Crowdfunding with an effect: the TU Berlin spin-off Mowea builds modular wind turbines for everyone. To win investors, we combined office scenes, 2D and 3D animation, stock footage and drone shots over Berlin. Within weeks on Companisto, the campaign exceeded its €350,000 goal and raised half a million euros.

Brief
Mowea is a start-up spun off from TU Berlin that has come up with a brilliant idea for generating renewable energy - and is realising it: The modular wind turbine for everyone! In order to attract further investors, the two founders wanted a crowdfunding video. This should, of course, present the business plan convincingly. But it should also stir up emotions and inspire enthusiasm for the idea!
Solution
We combined different visual worlds: classic office impressions, 2D and 3D animations, stock footage and drone shots over the rooftops of Berlin. These were great fun for everyone involved in the shoot: the weather played along and the sun provided beautiful flashes of reflection on the frame of the windmill prototype. You couldn't have done better with computer effects!
Result
Within a few weeks of the video being posted on the crowdfunding portal Companisto, Mowea reached its target - and even exceeded it by far: the campaign, which was originally set to raise 350,000 euros, reached half a million! The startup is also using the film as an image film. Win-win-win: for the customer, for Companisto, and for us. And certainly for the investors too!
