How WAGO manages its own video content

Table of contents:

WAGO, a global leader in connection and automation technology with over 8,600 employees, has embraced video as a central communication tool—both internally and externally. The company produces a wide range of content, including internal communications, live-action product videos, and 3D tutorials. To support this growing demand, WAGO recently built a dedicated in-house studio.

A core part of WAGO’s strategy is using video to enhance customer understanding. In their webshop, videos help showcase products from all angles and provide step-by-step guidance for installation and usage.

To efficiently manage their expanding video library, WAGO relies on the VideoManager Pro from movingimage. Prior to using the platform, the company struggled with a sluggish internal database. Now, all video types—from internal training clips to hour-long webinars—are centrally managed on movingimage’s platform.

One of the platform’s key benefits for WAGO is the organizational clarity it provides. With many international subsidiaries producing their own content, VideoManager Pro enables full transparency over what’s being created and by whom. The platform's intuitive user interface allows for easy configuration of permissions and access rights via group settings.

Global collaboration has also become easier. Videos uploaded to the platform are instantly available for international teams to download in their preferred formats and resolutions. WAGO has established individual user groups for each country office, ensuring precise access control for uploading, downloading, and approving content.

Another important feature is the ability to add subtitles, enabling subsidiaries without dubbing resources to still localize and publish video content effectively.

The platform has been very well received within the organization. WAGO reports that onboarding new teams—such as international subsidiaries—takes just minutes. Overall, feedback on VideoManager Pro has been consistently positive.

I always notice very quickly when working with service providers whether there is a fit. And when I have the feeling after 1-2 events that these service providers are becoming “friends”, I know that we agree and that it works together. And we have that feeling with movingimage.
