Why this update matters if you manage a large library

Editing videos one at a time is fine until the library grows. Then a simple change, such as adding a keyword, applying a retention policy or publishing a batch, turns into an afternoon. This video shows the bulk editing feature in VideoManager Pro, which applies the same settings you would make on a single detail page to as many videos as you select.

How it works

Select videos using the checkbox at the top left, or click them individually, and a bulk editing bar appears at the bottom of the screen. It is most useful in combination with what you already do: filter a channel or the all-videos view down to exactly the set you mean, then act on all of it at once. From there you can remove channel assignments, add keywords, or set the publishing status for the whole selection. The video points out two details worth knowing: each keyword shows how often it has already been used, and new keywords are added to those already assigned rather than replacing them. Scheduled unpublishing and the player's download option are set from the same menu.

Security and lifecycle in bulk

The security menu covers the owner group and access profile, security policies that determine who may see which video, and, where Video Lifecycle Management is enabled, retention policies plus delete and archive dates. One point deserves attention: these settings overwrite whatever is already there, and deletion dates are recalculated from the current date.

What happens when permissions are missing

The part worth watching closely is how the system handles rights. If your selection includes videos you are not allowed to change, it tells you how many and lets you continue: those videos are skipped and the rest are updated. If you select only videos you have no permission for, the action is greyed out straight away.
